Link-building services
in Los Angeles

A Silver Lake DTC brand competing against a studio-backed competitor's PR budget, a Culver City production-adjacent vendor invisible next to the majors it services, a Koreatown restaurant group that needs press coverage a five-star review can't buy — in a media market this saturated, a link has to come from somewhere an editor actually reads, not a directory nobody opens.

Press coverage and links are separate outcomes

A mention in a publication and a link from that publication are different things, and the second one does not follow automatically from the first. Teams that run media relations and search work in the same quarter often discover this after the coverage has already run.

Most editorial systems strip outbound links by default, or convert them to plain text, or point them at a landing page the newsroom controls. None of that is hostile. It is a house style, and it is set long before your story arrives.

So the ask has to happen before publication, and it has to be small. A link to the specific page the article describes, in the sentence that describes it, is a reasonable request. A link to the homepage in the author bio is not worth negotiating for.

What actually earns the link is a page worth linking to. If the article describes a method, a dataset or a tool, and the page it points at explains that thing properly, the link survives the editing pass because removing it would leave the reader without the reference.

The second half of this is reclamation. Coverage accumulates, and a share of it names the company without linking. Finding those mentions is mechanical: search the brand and product names, filter out your own properties, and list the pages that mention you with no link. Then write to the author with the specific sentence and the specific URL. The response rate on that is modest and the work is cheap, which makes it worth doing on a schedule rather than once.

What we report: mentions found, links requested, links added, and the pages that received them. We do not report the reach or readership of the publication, because those figures come from the publisher and we cannot verify them.

The unglamorous part matters most. A single link from a publication that genuinely covers your field does more than a long list of directory entries, because search engines weigh the relevance of the linking page and a directory entry has none.

Why does a Downtown LA startup ship a well-researched piece and still watch a Century City firm with a bigger name outrank it on the same term?
Because an LA Times business reporter or a Variety editor doesn't go looking for content to cite.
Someone has to land it in front of the person already covering that beat, at the moment they need a source.
Skip that step and the piece sits there, accurate and completely unlinked, while the competitor's press mention does the ranking work instead.

What does link building cost for a business in Los Angeles?

Cost tracks your industry and your current domain authority more than anything else. Real estate in West Hollywood or luxury retail runs into heavier competition than a neighborhood service business, which means a more aggressive outreach push and a higher budget to match. We price after looking at your actual backlink profile and who you're up against, not off a flat industry rate card.

How long does it take to see authority improvements in Los Angeles markets?

Meaningful movement in domain authority tends to show up after three to four months of consistent link acquisition. A new fashion e-commerce site in Downtown LA starts from a different baseline than an established Century City law firm, so the exact timeline shifts with where you're starting from. We prioritize LA-based publications, industry blogs, and directories that actually serve Southern California over generic national ones, and monthly reports track referring domains and ranking movement as they happen.

Which Los Angeles industries benefit most from your link building services?

Entertainment-adjacent vendors, Silicon Beach tech startups, San Fernando Valley healthcare providers, and hospitality businesses from Beverly Hills to Long Beach tend to see the strongest lift, mostly because LA's economy is dense enough that generic authority doesn't cut it — a Culver City production-adjacent vendor needs a different outreach angle than a Vernon manufacturer. Local directories, chamber listings, and university business-school networks like USC Marshall or UCLA Anderson often produce backlinks that read as regionally authoritative in a way a national directory never will.

What link building methods does Toimi use for clients?

White-hat only: guest posts on blogs that genuinely cover your niche, digital PR aimed at editorial mentions, broken-link replacement, and resource-page outreach. For a Los Angeles business, that usually means targeting outlets that cover Southern California business, tech, or lifestyle — never PBNs, link farms, or paid directories that put the whole domain at risk the moment Google notices.

How do you measure link quality and relevance?

Domain authority, real organic traffic on the referring site, topical fit, and whether the link sits in genuine editorial content — a mention in an LA Times business feature or a Venice tech blog with an engaged readership outweighs a hundred generic directory listings. Anything with spammy anchor patterns or thin content gets flagged during monthly audits, and anything toxic gets disavowed before it drags the domain down.

Can you help recover from a Google penalty or algorithm update?

If a penalty traces back to the backlink profile, yes — a full audit identifies the toxic domains, we file the disavow, and rebuild from there with editorial-only links. Recovery moves at different speeds depending on how deep the damage is: some sites see improvement within about two months of cleanup, others need four to six months of steady white-hat acquisition before the rankings fully recover.

How does Toimi communicate progress during a campaign?

Monthly reports covering new backlinks, authority shifts, and ranking movement, tracked against your actual competitors rather than in isolation. A dedicated contact schedules regular check-ins to adjust strategy when an outreach angle underperforms or when something shifts in the LA market, and a shared project board shows active outreach and upcoming placements as they develop as well as after the fact.

What happens after the initial link building campaign ends?

Authority doesn't hold itself steady on its own — algorithms shift, competitors keep building, and older links lose some value over time. A maintenance phase keeps the backlink profile monitored, replaces anything lost, and pursues new opportunities as a business expands into new service areas. Pausing entirely means keeping every link already earned, plus a final audit with recommendations for holding the current authority level without active management.
