Website rebuild

Overview

Screen Factory Florida (screen-factory-florida.com) builds and repairs pool cages, patio screens, and lanai enclosures across Florida. Project prices on its own site run from $9,500 to $33,500 — that's the scale of the business behind the numbers below (screen-factory-florida.com/faq/). In July 2026 the site moved from an old URL structure that had accumulated 2,785 duplicate pages to a city-aware structure with a full 301 redirect map.

How many duplicate pages needed a redirect

The old site had accumulated 2,785 duplicate pages. This wasn't a move to a new domain — the rebuild replaced the existing site in place, so every one of those 2,785 indexed URLs carried whatever rankings and inbound links it had already earned. Without a mapped redirect for each one, cutover would have reset those signals to zero the moment the old URL stopped resolving. That's the concrete risk a 301 map removes, not a general precaution.

What changed in the 301 migration (10–15 July 2026)

  • City-aware URL structure. One canonical page per service per city, replacing the duplicate set.
  • Full 301 redirect map, built before cutover — every one of those 2,785 previously indexed URLs got a route to its new destination.
  • Pre-launch SEO baseline check. Its indexable state was captured before the old site went offline, so the switch could be verified against a known "before," not reconstructed after the fact.
  • Structured data. Screaming Frog's 22 September 2026 crawl found valid JSON-LD structured data on 433 of 433 crawled pages, with no schema validation errors.

Search traffic and rankings before and after the migration

Three of the clearest position changes, out of the twenty commercial queries we tracked:

QueryVolumePosition beforePosition after
screen enclosures nokomis50not in top 1002
punta gorda pool cages1702210
pool cages naples110178

We show what you can verify yourself, and we name what we didn't measure. We don't have Search Console access for this domain, so the query positions above and the traffic and keyword figures below are SEMrush estimates, not measured clicks.

MetricBefore (June 2026)After (22 Sep 2026)
Organic traffic (sessions/month, excl. Local Pack)99226
Organic keywords ranking7191,114

We could have published a bigger number. All-position traffic — which includes Google's Local Pack and Business Profile listings — went from 502 to 1,250 sessions/month over the same period. About 82% of that growth is Local Pack and Maps visibility, a separate channel from the URL rebuild described here, not classic organic rankings. That 502-to-1,250 pair is not a result of this migration, and we don't present it as one.

Measured — our crawl, 22 September 2026. Screaming Frog crawled 1,496 internal URLs; 97.4% (1,457) are indexable. Among the 433 HTML pages in that crawl, every one carries a unique title tag and exactly one H1, 99.77% carry a meta description, and structured data validates clean on all 433 with zero errors. Title, H1, canonical, and schema are the elements this crawl confirms are clean — it doesn't claim the whole site is optimized end to end. Separately, the same crawl found zero internal links pointing to pre-migration URLs: every internal link already points to its current destination. That checks internal linking, not whether external inbound links to the old URLs still resolve — that wasn't part of this crawl.

Estimated — SEMrush. The traffic, keyword, and query-position figures above are SEMrush's organic-search model, not Search Console data we hold ourselves.

What you can check yourself

The rebuilt site is public: screen-factory-florida.com. Its current rankings and technical health can be checked directly against the live domain today — the same domain the crawl and query positions above are describing, not a staging copy.
